Getting the most from Talk Arabic

From signing up to your first lesson, in a few simple steps

01 Get started

  • Sign up for free with your name and email, then confirm your email from the message we send.
  • Complete your details in Settings (gender, first language and what you want to learn for).
  • If you like, take the level test and we will suggest suitable tutors.

02 Get ready

  • Have a camera, a microphone and a stable internet connection.
  • Talk Arabic works on a computer, a smartphone or a tablet.

03 Choose your tutor

  • Browse tutors and filter by dialect, speciality and the tutor's gender.
  • Read the tutor's profile, student reviews and experience, and watch their intro video if there is one.
  • We suggest trying more than one tutor to find who suits you. You can change tutor any time.

04 Book your lesson

  • From the tutor's profile press Book, choose an available day and time (shown in your time zone) and the lesson length, then confirm.
  • You can pick the days and times that suit you during the week.
  • If the tutor is available right now, ask for an instant lesson that starts straight away.

05 Enter the lesson room

  • The room opens about 10 minutes before your lesson; find the Enter room button in your bookings, plus an alert on any page before the lesson.
  • Ask your tutor to help you phrase and pronounce what you want to say — the whole lesson is conversation.
  • Need more time? Extend the lesson from inside the room.

06 After the lesson

  • Rate your tutor and tell us what you think so we can improve.
  • If something went wrong, report it from your bookings within 48 hours and the lesson's minutes return to you under our Satisfaction Guarantee.

07 Wallet and minutes

  • You buy minutes in a package and each lesson uses some of them; purchased minutes do not expire.
  • Packages are paid by bank card through a secure payment gateway.
  • Follow your balance and purchases on the Wallet page.

Common questions

Is Talk Arabic right for me if I'm a beginner?

Yes — the platform is for every level: beginner, intermediate and advanced. At each level you practise conversation that suits it: simple expressions and everyday situations for beginners, longer dialogues and deeper topics beyond that. Start with the free level test and we will suggest a suitable tutor.

Is Talk Arabic free?

Signing up is free; lessons are paid for in minutes, which keeps teaching quality high and pays our tutors.

Can I choose my tutor's gender?

Yes — in the tutor list choose Male or Female. Some tutors teach learners of one gender only, and you will see a message when booking if that does not match.

Can I contact my tutor outside the platform?

No. To protect your rights and safety, sharing phone numbers or social accounts is not allowed; all communication goes through the platform's messages and lesson room.
