Conditions d'utilisation
Last updated: 3 November 2026
Welcome to Talk Arabic. The platform does one thing: it teaches Arabic conversation in live video sessions with tutors whose first language is Arabic. This agreement governs the relationship between you and the platform and applies to everyone who uses our website or apps — learner, tutor or visitor. By creating an account, pressing “I agree” or using the platform you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted it. If you do not accept any part of it, please do not use the platform.
1. Definitions
“The platform” is the Talk Arabic website, apps and services. “We” operate it. “Learner” books or takes part in lessons. “Tutor” is someone the platform has approved to teach. “Lesson” is a live conversation session, one-to-one or group. “Balance” is the minutes you have bought in your wallet. “Package” is a quantity of minutes sold at a set price.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 to create an account and at least 18 to teach. Under-18s use the platform with a parent or guardian's consent and under their responsibility.
Registration needs a name, a valid email address and a password; we also ask for your gender, country of residence and first language, and you confirm the data is correct and kept up to date. Gender is used so lessons match what learners and tutors prefer (for example choosing a male or female tutor), not to discriminate between users.
Your account and balance are for your own use only and may not be shared, sold or transferred. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for all activity through your account, and must tell us at once if you think it is no longer secure.
You may not create several accounts to take advantage of trial lessons, offers or discounts, or create fake accounts.
3. What the service is
The service is conversation sessions: practising speaking and listening and building fluency and confidence in real situations, at each level (beginner, intermediate and advanced) in the way that suits it. It is not an accredited academic course.
We do not guarantee a particular learning result — progress depends on your regularity and practice — nor that a particular tutor is available at a particular time.
Any platform certificate is a completion or level certificate issued by the platform, not an academic qualification accredited by an official body.
4. Learner and tutor
Tutors are independent and use the platform to give their lessons; they are not our employees or agents. We nonetheless review tutors before approving them, follow the quality of their teaching and deal with shortcomings that are reported.
Tutors are responsible for their availability, preparation and how they teach within the platform; learners are responsible for attending the time they booked.
You can choose your tutor and change tutor at any time. A tutor may choose whom they teach (anyone, male learners only or female learners only), and the platform shows learners what suits them.
5. Booking, timing and attendance
Available times are shown in your local time. A booking is confirmed when it is completed and its minutes are taken from your balance, and you receive a notice of the time.
The lesson room opens about 10 minutes before the lesson. If one side is late the lesson is not extended automatically; it can be extended from inside the room subject to balance and schedule.
If a learner misses a booked lesson its minutes are used. If the tutor is absent or the lesson cannot take place because of the tutor or the platform, the learner may report it under section 9.
Instant lessons: a learner may ask for a lesson starting now from an available tutor; it happens only if the tutor accepts within the time shown, and minutes are not taken before acceptance.
6. Group lessons
Some lessons are given to a small group, whose size, topic, time and price the tutor sets within the platform's rules. Joining one takes the lesson's minutes from your balance.
The platform may cancel a group lesson that does not reach its minimum number of learners by the announced time, and the minutes return in full to the wallets.
Participants follow group-conversation etiquette and respect each other's time, and no part of a group lesson may be recorded or shared.
7. Cancelling and changing
You can cancel a lesson from My bookings. Its minutes return to your wallet in proportion to how early you cancel, under the refund rules shown on the Satisfaction Guarantee page at the time of booking.
A tutor may cancel a lesson for an excuse; the minutes then return in full to the learner, who is offered another time.
8. Payment, balance and prices
Lessons are paid from a balance of minutes you buy in packages. Purchased minutes do not expire and each lesson uses some of them.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes or bank fees your own provider may apply.
Regional pricing: a discount may apply to packages depending on the country you connect from, in tiers the platform sets and may change. The price shown is the price charged. We may cancel a purchase where the regional price was obtained by hiding the true country.
Payment is handled by an approved third-party provider supporting mada, Visa and Mastercard cards. The payment is subject to that provider's terms, and we neither see nor store your card details.
If you were charged by mistake, contact us within thirty (30) days of the charge so we can review it.
9. Refunds and the 48-hour guarantee
Minutes of lessons that were actually held are not refunded.
If a lesson did not happen or had a serious problem (tutor absent, a technical fault that stopped it, or unacceptable quality), report it from My bookings within 48 hours. We review every report and, where the problem is confirmed, the lesson's minutes return to your wallet (or your trial lesson).
Money is refunded in cash only where there was an error in the charge or payment, as the payment provider allows.
10. Trial lesson
When the free trial lesson is available, each new learner is entitled to one, of the length shown. Using several accounts to get more is not allowed and we may withdraw the trial from anyone who does.
11. Acceptable behaviour
You agree to join lessons only to practise the language and to respect your tutor and other learners — no abuse, harassment, offensive language, indecent content or promotion of any party.
You may not use the platform unlawfully, in a way that infringes others' rights, or in a way that disables it or harms its users, including viruses, malicious code, hacking attempts and automated data collection.
The platform does not monitor lesson content but may suspend anyone who breaks this agreement. To report inappropriate behaviour write to us from the Contact page.
12. No contact or dealings outside the platform
Learners and tutors may not contact each other outside the platform. That includes exchanging phone numbers, social-media accounts, email addresses or any other way to reach each other, and agreeing lessons, payments or gifts of money outside it. All communication goes through the platform's messages and the lesson room.
This protects both sides, keeps quality high and preserves everyone's rights (such as the guarantee, ratings and reporting). Anyone who breaks this rule may be warned, have their account suspended, and have earnings tied to the breach withheld.
13. Privacy and lesson recording
What is recorded: the audio of the lesson and room events (joining and leaving, room tools such as turning a book's pages) — not camera video and not screen sharing.
Why: to control teaching quality, to resolve reports and disputes (including the 48-hour guarantee), and to train tutors and improve the service.
How long: for a limited period (30 days by default), then deleted. A recording is kept longer only while a report or dispute about it is open.
Who can listen: the platform staff authorised to review quality and disputes, and the two sides of a lesson where needed to show what happened in a dispute between them. It is not published or used for marketing without your written consent.
Your consent: by booking a lesson or entering its room you confirm you know it is recorded and accept that. If you do not accept, do not book lessons. The recording is announced at booking and in the room.
Live sessions and recordings run through a third-party video-room provider that processes them on our behalf. A tutor may also keep notes on your level to improve your lessons; only the tutors you deal with and the platform team can read them.
The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and your rights.
14. Certificates
Certificates are issued under the conditions announced on the platform (for example completed conversation hours), each with a public verification code. We may revoke a certificate found to rest on false data or manipulation.
15. Terms for tutors
To be approved a tutor needs a bachelor's degree in Arabic or higher, Arabic as their first language, clear pronunciation, a completed account and profile, and a good internet connection. Review takes 2 to 5 working days, and we may reject an application or withdraw approval.
Tutors undertake that their data, qualifications and documents are accurate, to keep to their schedule, to give a conversation lesson suited to the learner's level and need, and not to promote other services or sites.
A tutor is an independent provider. The platform sets the rate and the payout method, paid through approved means such as PayPal or a bank account. The tutor is responsible for any taxes or legal obligations of their own in their country.
Materials or suggestions a tutor offers in lessons remain their responsibility, and the tutor allows the platform to use their name, photo and approved profile to present them to learners.
16. Intellectual property
The platform, its design, logo, trade names and content belong to Talk Arabic. You may not sell, copy, alter or create derivative works from them without written permission.
What you upload (your photo, CV, messages, reviews) stays yours, and you give us a limited licence to display and use it to run the platform.
17. Suspension, termination and deleting your account
We may suspend your account or end your use of the platform if you break this agreement, and may stop all or part of the service with or without notice. On suspension for your breach, your balance is returned only as the system provides.
You can ask to delete your account at any time from your account settings.
18. Disclaimer and limits of liability
The service is provided “as is”; we do not guarantee it is free of errors or interruptions, and we are not responsible for a user's internet or devices or for failures of outside providers beyond our control.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, and our total liability in any dispute is limited to the value of lessons you paid for and did not receive. Nothing excludes what cannot lawfully be excluded.
You alone are responsible for your dealings with other members; we may follow up disputes between them but are not obliged to.
19. Changes to this agreement
We may change this agreement; a change applies after we notify you on the platform or by email. If you do not accept it, stop using the platform and ask us to close your account.
20. Governing law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We first try to resolve any disagreement amicably by contact; if that fails it goes to the competent courts in the Kingdom. The agreement may be carried out in Arabic or English, and the Arabic text prevails in case of difference.
21. Contact
We contact you electronically, by email or platform notices, about your account and our services. For questions or complaints write to us from the Contact page or at info@taarabic.com.
